Comcast turned something off at the office, and that's why my service stopped working.
After all that, it turns out the wiring was fine and the modem was fine and the signal was fine.
The problem was back at Comcast home base.
Unreal.

Sounds about par for the course for ISP's, to me.
Such a ridiculous waste of time and energy.
