As we wait to find out what Reid et al plan to do about Lieberman, Senators Sanders, Brown, and Franken have the floor right now and are talking about needing to get rid of the excise tax. If you're unfamiliar, the Senate bill pays for part of reform by taxing high cost health care plans. There's a better way. The House bill calls for a surcharge on those who make more than $500,000/year.
If you're at all curious, you should listen in. Even though I know this stuff inside and out, the trio of Sanders, Brown, and Franken is oddly engaging.
