What happened? Have we caught all the predators?
Dateline's airing an hour right now called "Messiest Celebrity Meltdowns" complete with VH1-style Best Week Ever F-list commentary (literally, some of the same people) and the classic "what the heck do we use for b-roll?" tactic of zooming in on and panning across still photos.
Who greenlit this fiasco? Who thought TV needed more recycled footage of famous people behaving badly? On Sunday at 7pm. You know, family hour.
Dateline did purport to be news at some point, right?

This is EXACTLY what I said to my husband Sunday night. Except, it was more like, "Honey, did we finally get cable? Cause I'm watching VH...oh. Oh. OH NO."
Ha! I'm glad it's not just me. I'm a little on the cranky side when it comes to TV these days so sometimes I wonder if I'm just being hypercritical.
Turns out, not so much. It really IS as awful as I think it is.
