Who's leaking *CNN Superdesk emails?
Babalu Blog is a source we used to check often for South Florida/Cuba-related news. Now someone's handed Val an internal guidance email that probably wasn't meant for mass consumption.

I don't care so much what the International Desk is circulating re: How to Cover Castro. I do find it fascinating that the ship seems to be oozing from the inside out.
UPDATE: Just had a chat with Val. Seems we're dealing with more than one little leak. He got the same exact content from two independent sources obviously requesting anonymity.
Before you say, "so what?" - Val had this to add:
I had read and watched CNN's reports yesterday – prior to any knowledge of the email – and found them somewhat biased, but once I had the email in question noticed that the reporters and journalists had followed their instructions to a tee. I wasn't surprised originally – I've always expected bias from CNN - but in light of the directive, I was completely flabbergasted.

This memo seems completely benign from my perspective. The "Castro News Network"? Really?

All of that is very true. There is no slobbering love for the dictator - just facts. I say good job.
The Castro haters can try all they might, but the fact is Castro was complicated, as is our US history with the country since we invaded the country under false pretenses to start the Spanish American War.
There is a lot of good and bad to all sides about Castro, which this memo was correct to point out. The memo seems to just want some objective reporting on the issue instead of the usual Castro is the devil propaganda, which I applaud.

The Guilty Pleasure of Fidel Castro
It's tough to have an opinion about the content of the memo because I know the inner workings of the org and stuff goes around all the time that is never meant to see the light of day (as in any company).
What fascinates me is the fact that someone (two or more someones, actually) would intentionally leak superdesk emails.
Smells like frustration and disappointment.
